Road Trip Car Maintenance
- Check your tires for low tread, unusual wear, and low pressure.
- Check the oil level.
- Check the fluid levels (brake, transmission, power steering, coolant)
- Check belts, replace any that are freyed, cracked, or glazed (slick) on the underside.
- Check hoses for leaks and cracks.
- Check headlights and taillights for burned out bulbs.
- Clean the windows, both inside and out.
- Replace windshield wiper blades if they are damaged, skipping, or not cleaning the window well.
- If you are close to your next maintenance visit or oil change, do it before you leave.
- Make sure your spare tire is inflated and ready to use.
- Make sure your emergency kit is in good shape.
