What browsers does ZingLists support?

ZingLists is designed to work with modern browsers that support web standards such as HTML4, CSS2.1 and JavaScript. The site has been tested and works well on IE7, Firefox 1.5 and later, Safari 1.3 and later and Opera 9.21 and later. IE6 also works, though due to its inconsistent (and sometimes incorrect) support of CSS, some parts of the site design are less appealing. We highly recommend that IE6 users install Firefox 3.

While JavaScript is not required, ZingLists will look better and provide the best experience if it is enabled. If you find that something on the site does not work at all when JavaScript is disabled, please let us know about it and we'll make an effort to fix it.

What other features are coming?

While things can always change, some of the ideas we have in mind are:

• RSS feeds for your lists
• Sharing a list with only a few people, and letting them make changes
• Accessing your lists through email or text-messaging on your cell phone

Can I use ZingLists as a Getting Things Done® system?

We'll be honest: while we know a little bit about GTD®, we haven't sat down and given it a try ourselves. However, you should be able to adapt ZingLists to a GTD process by creating appropriately named lists and moving items from one list to another.

What is the difference between repeating “every” and “after”?

It has everything to do with when you complete the item and when the next occurrence is scheduled.

Every means that the item will be rescheduled as you specify regardless of if the previous item is already done. Using this option, you can have multiple items in a list that tell you to do the same thing, which is very useful for things like paying your rent. For example, on the first of every month, rent is due, even if I missed sending it last month.

After means that the next occurrence of an item won't be scheduled until you complete the current one. Using this option, you'll never have more than one uncompleted item for that activity. This is useful for things like mowing your lawn. If you're supposed to do that every week and it's due on Saturday, but you don't get to it until Wednesday, you won't get another item for that three days later (the grass won't be long enough yet). Instead, the next occurrence is scheduled a week out from when you completed the previous one, which in this example is the following Wednesday.
